Hmmm...

So. I FINALLY got around to posting the second "chapter" of our San Antonio trip. Dreadfully sorry it's taken me so long. To be perfectly honest, I forgot about it until my relatives started sticking me with pins until I got it done. ;-)

Blogger is strange, and for some reason, it posted *below* my post about Amy and Brandon Wilhoite. So yes. It confuses me, but that's the way it is. :-P

---

Once upon a time, it seemed that everyone and their maiden aunt had a blog, and they all published new and fascinating material on a regular basis. Then, seemingly all at once, everyone stopped.

Or got boring.

Mostly the former.

I know, for me, a deficit of inspiration and a surplus of other activities are largely to blame for the lack of Quintessentiality.

Recently, however, I have grown to miss my little digital voice. I'd like to write some more. We'll see if time and writer's block continue to inhibit the process.

(I should like to think they can be overcome!)

What the Belt Family Has Been Up To (abridged):

We recently enjoyed a visit from Grandpa (Dad's dad) for a full week. We hadn't seen him since Mum was pregnant with Jared, in 1998. Needless to say we were beside ourselves with excitement.

During this visit, the family made a trip to Cabela's. I don't know that anything was even purchased, but we had a whole lot of fun just walking around. I'm sure we looked like we were on a field trip or something (albeit an odd one...we were surely a motley crew to behold).

Pictures--

Going in...

Amanda, Dad, and Erinne looking at the fish in the aquarium...

Grandpa, Dougie, Jared, and more fish...

Dougie coolly examining the guns behind the glass....and Ricky geeking out over one particular revolver. ;-)

L-R: Dougie, Erinne, Dad, Grandpa, Ricky, and Jared.

"Wait...there's a WHAT behind me?"

Ricky's rhinoceros impression...

*giggle*
He's so cute...

---

So to sum it up: it was an especially nice family outing, capping off an especially nice week.
Grandpa, we miss ya already.

Until next time, mas compains, I bid thee adieu.
Quintessentially yours,
~Ashley~

Great job, Ashley. Thanks for sharing about your Grandpa's visit - and for the Round Rock story. I hope we get to hear about the ranch before I go to the retirement home!! ;o) Love you, Nana

Over a year between blog posts. Tsk tsk. I reckon late is better then never.

Glad to finally hear from you. I was just about to the point of e-mailing you directly to make sure all was well.

You can fix the order of your posts by adjusting the dates and times.

Looks like Cabela's is about as good as Bass Pro Shop in Shreveport. Just going and looking is the fun part you don't even have to buy anything.
