It is ten after midnight. Today is my birthday. Life is good.
More details to follow...
............................................
I spent the night at Nana's. We went to my favorite little Italian restaurant, Avanti--I mean "Franki's". They changed their name and I never can remember. :-P It's the rockinest little place. Owned by this sweet Italian family....and they know me by now. I'm an absoloute regular. But they still don't know my name! So when I walk in, the owner and my usual waiter will look up and spread their arms and exclaim......"LADY!!!"
Despite the fact that Nana has been here for weeks and weeks, she still had yet to experience Avanti--I mean "Franki's". I like the old name better.
Food was uber-yummy, and the canolli was free.
As we were getting ready to go, the manager was coming in. He saw me and made this big deal about coming up and saying "long time no see!" and "to what do we owe the pleasure?" and "who is your friend?" and "it's your birthday?? Come, you must have desert! On me, on me. Come. Eat."
............................................
After dinner, we went to see Casino Royale. This would be my third time to see it, but Nana still had not had the pleasure, so I enticed her with the promise of a free ticket, and we went. Hee. Great movie. I love it. I think she liked it too.
............................................
I recieved a birthday e-mail from my grandfather today. And an early happy birthday story written by none other than Bobby Garcia. I also got an e-mail from Ashley in MO and a birthday comment (that you've all probably seen by now) on this very entry from Nana, who insisted on singing "Happy Birthday" with much pomp and circumstance and jazzy hands at 12:00 this morning.
............................................
I clocked in at 8:05 this morning. A whole bunch of balloons and a birthday card and a big, foil banner greeted me.
I was ordered to come back to the HR department for birthday cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate. They made me lead my own birthday song and go first in line.
When I returned to my desk, I had a flower delivery waiting for me......thanks, MO girls. You all rock supremely. They're lovely, and they smell so very nice.... :-)
Then I got on my blog because I had to tell everyone that Sarah, Joanna, Tyana, Rachel, Ashley, Hillary, and Heidi (i.e. "all the MO gals") are incredibly sweet and are the recipients of many well wishes this morning.
............................................
I will alter this post as more birthday goings-on occur.
Stay tuned!
............................................
It is now 10:34 in the morning.
Bobby G. just stopped by to give me my birthday present...a new Beatles CD/DVD set, "Love". I've never heard of it. Bobby says it's new.
Wheeeeee!
............................................
So it's 5 minutes 6:00 now. Amanda wanted to spend some time with me, so we went to Sprouts and she bought me a case of Cranberry Fizzy Lizzy. Mmm. Then she took one. ;-)
We decided there wasn't much to see at Sprouts, so we went to the Braums up the road and she bought me an ice cream cone. She got one too, but all she could do with it was lament the calories she was taking in. "What I'd really rather have is some celery," she says.
Yeah, okay Manda...
............................................
I assembled the guitar stand Dad gave me. It's perfect. He also gave me a $20 gift card to Guitar Center. *yay!* I'm so happy. I really needed a new guitar strap, so that card will be put to good use.
Man, I am so pleased with myself for NOT posting a wish list here. LOL. In years past, I was the wish list queen.
It started out with the simple no. 2 pencil and college-ruled pad of paper.
As I matured, so did my Christmas lists...I started composing them on WordPad...with a festive red-and-green font.
One year, I started categorizing the items on my list.
The next year, I cross-referenced it.
The next year, I developed a symbol key to indicate just how much I wanted/needed any particular thing, and dropped the names of stores where you could find especially hard-to-find items.
Yeah...it was a sight... I'll need to post one of my old lists or something sometime. LOL!!

Happy [late] Birthday, Ashley. I hope the next year is as special as you are!
So like, several weeks later, can I still say happy birthday?
(I'd double comment if that'd help)
Yes, you can still say happy birthday.
No, you're only one week late.
No, don't double-post. I still think it's lame. ;-)
Thanks, Quinn. :-D
Whoa Hey!! My comment didn't stay! Sorry girl. I was here. I read it. I wished you happy birthday....

New guitar strings! Yay!
I have a cousin who does wish lists like that. I usually give people three items that I want, or give them the default of cash.
It's simple for everyone!
Happy B-day sis!! I know that I have said that like already but you know....now everyone knows I said it!!
Luv Ya Girly!!
