"My Mama Told Me Don't Lose You"

"Now, I'm not a highly metaphysical man..."

I needed a pick-me-up this morning.

It came in the form of Michael Franti & Spearhead's "Say Hey (I Love You)". This song is undeniably happy. I first heard it on the radio while driving home from work other day and thought "I have to know this song." So first thing in the door, I googled all the lyrics I could remember. Then I downloaded it.

Good song.

Randomnicities...

I decided to try a new energy drink today. Nitrous Monster. They added nitrous oxide to Monster (fancy that). It tastes like Sunny Delight. And I am unimpressed.

I got a job temping at an a/c company for a few weeks while their receptionist is out on medical leave. I really like it. It's good to be back behind a desk. :-) The only problem is, I keep wanting to answer the phone with my old job's salutation: "Thank you for calling McLane FoodService, how may I direct your call?" Psh. You wanna know the REALLY sad thing? Sometimes when I'm distracted, I answer my cell phone that way. hah. I guess three years of habits die hard. :-P

So yeah. I actually have to look at the name of the other company in order to answer the phone properly. Otherwise, it becomes "Good morning, thank you for calling McLane FoodServvvvvvIIIIIImean, thank you for calling Daikin, how may I direct your call?"

Eheh.

Danny and I are working our way through past seasons of LOST.

(Yes, it has taken us this long to catch up with the rest of the western world. Don't judge.)

Second season, several episodes in. Is it just me, or is this show growing increasingly creepy? I mean, I like it. I'm intrigued. I will keep watching. But I think I'm noticing more instances that include me looking at the floor, grabbing Danny's hand, nervously chewing my drinking straw, etc.

(Yes, I get inordinately creeped out by eerie TV series. Hush.)

And did anyone else have the "What-the-whaa?" moment when the so-called Catholic Priest told Claire that the descending Dove at Jesus' baptism told John the Baptist that "this man had been cleansed of all his sins"?? I swear, the people who write this show do not research. They don't know about planes, radios, or religion. Silly rabbits...poorly researched sensationalism is for kids (and Fox News).

I just polished off my Monster. I really did not enjoy that. Next time I'll just get a Nos.

And now, dear readers, the dulcet tones of responsibility are calling my name...I must work.

Until next time, I remain
Quintessentially yours,
~Ashley Michele~
