(per Robin's request *grin*)
I didn't go to work today. I woke up with what I thought was heartburn or something, but by the time I made it to the shower, I was pretty sure I was gonna throw up.
So yeah, I called 'em and said I couldn't come in. :-/
They were kinda ticked off that I didn't "give them more notice."
I spent much of the morning trying to sleep--but I really couldn't because the computer next to my bed makes my room a tourist attraction. So I had Danny and Ricky and Jared and Dougie and Bobby and Amanda in and out of the room all morning.
Jared (eight years old) came in at one point and asked me how I was feeling. I told him I was feeling okayish...a little better...he said, "Well, if you still feel like you need to throw up, I'll bring you a nice, big bowl, if you want it. A nice, big bowl always makes me feel a little bit better. 'cause I mean, if you're already sick, who wants to put their face in a toilet or a trash can?? They smell bad--it's no wonder you want to throw up! But bowls are clean."
He makes me laugh so hard....you know he's completely right, don't you?
I'm feeling significantly better now. Still a little sleepy, a little slight, but not icky-sick like I was this morning. I can actually stomach real food and difficult tasks like getting out of bed and dialing a telephone are no longer enough to send me reeling.
..........
For anyone wondering what the little Erinne doll is up to:
She is standing up on her own now. She's even taken as many as three to four steps at a time!
Does anyone remember the "My Hands Are Bananas" video I posted awhile back? You remember the part with the monkeys, where they're holding their hands in front of them and snapping and whispering "we are ze monkeys, we are ze monkeys..."
...well, Erinne does this thing where she imitates the monkeys. She holds her hands in front of her and pretends to snap and she whispers, "za za za...za za za..."
It is fully cute.
She blows kisses and has developed an acute fascination with Mom's collection of teddy bears. She snuggles with them and kisses their heads.
Also, she has learned how to scream.
Yeah...we don't need to elaborate on that one...
As for how she looks, well, her hair is even redder and getting rather long. We have to put it up in pigtails or pull it back in a clip to keep it out of her face. She has six teeth and her cheeks are big and chubby. She has little, bitty toes and a nice, round tummy. And the same devastatingly deep blue eyes.
Hm. I really *do* need to develop some film and get some pictures up here...
..........
Heroes. I think I'm addicted. Yup. And there's a new episode on tonight. Woo! Can't wait.
Favorite characters:
Hiro Nakamura (sp?)- completely adorable.
Mohinder Suresh- completely dreamy.
Peter Petrelli- completely heroic. He's my favorite.
..........
And now I must go. Sorry this isn't a more coherent/entertaining entry...I sort of wrote it on the fly. :-D
I should have the next installment of my holiday recap up soon (is it pathetic that I'm saying that in the end of January??).
Until then, I bid thee adieu.
Yours ever,
~Ashley~

I have a brother named Jared, who although is seventeen is every bit as insightful as your own.
Oh yes, I will be sure to give you more notice when I become ill in the hour leading up to when I leave for work. My bad.
Heh. Reading your description of Erinne nearly made me tear up, both because it was touching and because it made me think of all my little siblings.
God. Those early years of life go by so fast and suddenly they're seven and ten and twelve and nothing is the same.
Life's so sad and so lovely like that.
Man I feel special!! I love reading your blog!! And YES more pics please!! :) Love ya
Ashley,
you should put the pics of E playing video games with the boys(that was so cute)I really did like this one even more then the last ;-)
Ya'know....if some poor person has to clean your bowl for you then the malady increases by %100.
Not cool.
I hate bowls.
heh. heh. heh.
And PLEASE post pics!! I am dying to see the angel!!
I haven't developed the pics of Erinne and the boys yet. I can't afford them!! It's the only thing that has prevented me from posting pictures.
Maybe I'll see if Dad will let me snatch the digital camera and take some pictures today.
Yeah Lexi...that. lol
